Course Summary
In-depth Community Herbal Foundations course from Jan - November 2027 including 9 modules. Rooted in Portugal, available to anyone, taught in English. Course is held by herbalist & community educator Olivia Fite along with 8 other great guest teachers.
This is a community program. You join a cohort of plant medicine enthusiasts and move through the year together. It is a hybrid online program; including time spent in live zoom sessions, medicine making exercises, reading & writing prompts, guest speakers, pre-recorded lectures, monthly evaluation forms, mentorship opportunities and directed time spent with the plants of your very own ecosystem. The program incorporates: principles of spiritual ecology, medicine-making practice, folkloric & international healingwisdom, biomedical & phytochemical knowledge.
Objectives & Outcomes
• Plant Identification: Practice identifying the medicinal plants of your own region
• Medicine Making: Learn the skills needed to create your own at-home apothecary
• Herbal Energetics: Examine how flavors, energetics, and phytochemistry are all interconnected
• Holistic Physiology: Gain foundational knowledge of healthy human anatomy & physiology as it relates to herbalism
